Wanted: The Worst Office Cubicle

This post brought to you by Contest Factory. All opinions are 100% mine.

I used to work at an advertising agency but I’m not much of an office person. I hate having to wake up early, logging in, and waiting for the clock to strike 5. I hate having to work overtime without pay. And most of all, I hate having to work in a cubicle.

I’m a neat freak, so my cubicle is always tidy. But the person right beside me is nothing like that. He probably holds the record for the dirtiest cubicle in the world. I look in his cubicle and I can almost swear there’s a snake pit in there somewhere.

And if you’re just like the guy in the cubicle next to me, this just might be your chance to get your cubicle revamped! A contest called “Pimp My Cube” is looking for the saddest little cubicle and promises to perform a miracle makeover.

To join the Pimp My Cube Contest, all you have to do is prove that you have the baddest, messiest, most disgusting cubicle in the world. Take a video of your cubicle and feel free to explain why you, my friend, deserve to win. Upload your video and get your rather limited social networks to vote for your entry.

Good news is, you get extra chances of voting if you vote for other entries yourself, and if you participate in commenting and getting others to join this contest. It’s probably the saddest and funniest contest for yuppies, if you ask me.

A panel of judges from the Contest Factory will choose the winner based on a criteria that includes the number of votes you get for your entry, the worst video, and the entry that earns the most sympathy. The winner’s poor cubicle will get a makeover worth about $1200 – not bad! This includes a computer system, furniture, and even an entertainment system of your own, not to mention an espresso machine! Suddenly, I wish I was back in advertising and the guy next to me wins the contest. I would love to get fresh coffee all day.

Take note: make your video funny. You better have a sense of humor. There aren’t a lot of entries yet, so you just might be the only entry (and the only winner!). Good luck! And if you don’t win first prize, you might get a $200 gift certificate after a random ballot draw. Contest ends on January 31, midnight.

Check out the Pimp My Cube website for more details. Go ahead, nobody will find out that you did.
